Poetry Festival

“Dancing With Words” is the title of the poetry festival our school initiated in 2001.  Poetry-loving young people from other schools in Istanbul are now gathering on our campus each year to take part in the “Poetry Writing Competition.” This is an event that encourages young people to try their hands in literature and poetry.

The “Talash Pie Day”

Every year on the last Sunday of March, the anniversary of the founding day of our school, the alumni of our schools come together on the campus to eat the traditional “talash pie” and remember the memories of their school days and revive old friendships.

Youth Theater Festival

One of the most important goals of the school is to make children aware of their own skills and prepare the environment where they can develop and exhibit these skills. Youth Theater Festival is one of those activities of our school which has become a tradition after 12 years of successful past. Some of our students who started theater as hobby during this festival found themselves later in life as professional actors, actresses and directors.

This year we will have the 13rd Youth Theater Festival and as it is every year, successful young men and women from several Istanbul high schools in producing on stage will receive awards in various categories.

White Night

The graduation ball that takes place in the evening of the commencement day takes its name from the white dresses of the young ladies who receive their diplomas during that day. Young men wear black tuxedos. 

The commencement day begins with the transfer of school colors from the graduates to the senior class followed by honor awards and then presentation of diplomas to all graduates. The day ends with music and dancing at a ball and a spectacular fireworks show marks the day’s end.

May 19 Youth Festival

May 19 is the National Day of Youth in Turkey. Our Student Association organizes a day of sports competitions, games, volleyball and basketball matches and entertainment to mark the Youth Day in which both students and teaching staff take part.

Instilling in our students the consciousness, responsibility and values that the individuals should have for the establishment and maintenance of a democratic society is one of the main objectives of our education programs. For this purpose our students hold elections every year to elect the members of the Student Council and their President.

The Student Council and the President elected by the students are instrumental in developing the awareness among the students of self-administration, complying with the rules set up by themselves and their administrative skills. The mechanism is also useful for maintaining the order in the school and student-teacher cooperation that we attribute great importance.
